Sir Peter Bottomley MP (co-chair and officer)

Member of Parliament for Worthing West

Peter has been the MP for Worthing West since 1997. He was first elected in 1975. He held three Ministerial posts in Employment, Transport and Northern Ireland (1984-1990) and in 2011 was knighted for Public Service. Sir Peter is currently the Father of the House of Commons – the longest serving MP.

 

Baron Rees of Ludlow (co-chair and officer)

Martin John Rees, Baron Rees of Ludlow, is a crossbench Peer in the House of Lords.

He is a British cosmologist and astrophysicist. He has been Astronomer Royal since 1995 and was Master of Trinity College, Cambridge from 2004 to 2012 and President of the Royal Society between 2005 and 2010.
